All About Janet

It seems I'm addicted to blogging about my Sims as I am about playing my Sims. Anyhow, this post is about Janet, Nikia's much less interesting sister & helper.

It was Nikia's first day on set as an extra & she left long before Janet was even thinking about getting out of bed.

What is up with the shoeless career outfits anyway?

 

 

 

Janet's day started a little rocky...

 

But after that it pretty much went swimmingly, if not a bit... dull.

So after breakfast (and realizing I'd forgotten to make her buy eggs the day before) I decided to send her to the grocery store.



 

I figured there wasn't anything else for her to do so I let her hang around the store as long as she wanted. Of course, instead of mingling with the other sims she decided to read...

 

 

Ugh. Dammit Janet! You're so boring!

 

I saw Finnegan Sawyer eyeing her & so I decided to start a conversation.

 

Hm. I guess she made an impression.
That went so well she decided to live up to her Friendly trait & started to talk to folks milling by, hitting it off with a few.

And so I got bored & sent her to the Festival where she decided to work on her golf swing.

Janet got home in time to have dinner with her sis & they had a lovely conversation about gardening & muscular men.

So, yeah, Janet is a lovely young lady who is incredibly & mind-numbingly normal.

However, I need to share this as well...

Oh Nikia...

So, I wasn't going to post again for a while but I have a feeling I have my work cut out for me on this one.

Everything started great! Sent Nikia to get her job, Janet went grocery shopping ($90 for tomatoes, lettuce & cheese?! You have got to be kidding!).

Then Janet planted a few things.

And Nikia started talking to herself for a bit.

After a while I got bored & Nikia rolled a wish to get her first celeb star. I thought, "Great! Time to go out." I sent them to a venue to get things started & Nikia started to work the room while Janet decided to play on the computer.

Nikia zeroed in on a coworker first (with my help, of course).

Willard Wright. They didn't exactly hit it off, but they were cordial. Besides... no offense to Willard but I need a baby daddy pronto &, well, he kinda resembles the funny face he's thinking about.

Next up was Isaac Luck. One of the best looking guys in town (imho).

Though she might've come on too strong...

Of course Chad Luck was close by so I figured we'd hit him up since he's, uhm, notoriously easy. Let's face it, single with 3 kids is going to require a quick lay & he's usually up for it.

Guess not.

Bah. Anyhow, the girls were getting hungry & the diner was right across the street & OOO! Men! So, hey, poverty be damned: They were going out for dinner.

They filled their bellies & got outside, so I thought I'd just kick back & let them mingle. Well, I didn't catch it quick enough to get a screenie but Janet get hit up by a mooch & gave him $2... and Nikia, well, she began to heckle everyone.

Thank god she got tired!

As you can see, she was in a group with her sister so I figured sending them home would call a cab & they'd both head home. Oh no, no. Nikia got in a cab & left her sister there.

-facepalm-

They're in bed now (I gave Janet top bunk; it's the least I could do for creating her a sister like Nikia) but I think this'll be interesting.

The House That Not Much Money Built

I chose the 64x64 lot north of town since there will be a 'farm' involved & built them a house. Well... more of a shack, really. It's not fancy. Despite being super cheap about it, they still only have 249 Simoleons to their name.

So much room, so little money...

So there it is, the starter house. They're going to be so disappointed. lol Though I love crappy houses to start with as you can see it improve over time.

Here's the inside. Nothing fancy at all, though I actually gave them a tv! They should feel honoured, but I doubt they will. They'll walk around & cry at things for a while, I'm sure.



So Intimidating

So... I've never blogged before & I haven't read many blogs so I have no idea what I'm doing. Guess I'll learn as I go.

This will be devoted to my second Sims 3 Random Legacy Challenge. Yes, you read that right: second. I recently completed my first challenge, had so much fun that I want to do it again! And blog about it... for some reason.

-shrug- I guess I want to record it because I get so emotionally attached to my pixels that I want to create a 'memory book' of them. Or something.

Anyhow! I rolled for my first & second gen, then chose 3 ten gen goals to accompany them on their journey. (Yes, 3. I do 2 of these on a regular basis in my normal games so they come naturally, the 3rd was just something I wanted to do.)

First Generation

Single parent with help - I'm thinking twin sisters
3 kids - My heir is generally the youngest female child. Just easier that way.

Founder will be an actress, with Director as her goal
Her 'help' will be a farmer/nectar maker - Very excited for this, honestly.

Generational Goal is 5 star celeb - Totally makes sense!
The fun - My Precious - LOL I always wanted to get this as it will make me crazy. I'm a minimalist so playing hoarder will be the real challenge here. I've chosen to keep all gifts since she'll be a celeb. Just makes sense to me.

(I usually roll for the next gen ahead of time so I know what I'm aiming for)

Angler - Blah. I hate fishing...

Career Student - Doing the rabbithole option since I uninstalled UL. A lot of the content just made me nuts & I don't want to bog my game down with a ton of mods.
Tattoo Addict - I loved this one last time. My acrobat was covered in tats & I loved it.

I'll be starting in Starlight Shores with minimal editing. I'm adding the Movie Studio to bring the actor career (It should have that anyway, right??). Probably going to replace mini bars with pro bars, as usual, & that's about it. I generally don't seed the places with 'ideal' Sims & just let nature take it's course (so to speak). After all, it takes all kinds to make a world, right?

Another thing I'll note is that I always need to move to a new town every 3rd generation. By the time I get to gen 3 the lag is horrid & moving gets rid of it. So, I'll plan for that as well.

My 3 10 Generation Goals

Remember the Past - Paint, Sculpt or Photograph each heir. I chose this one because I'd never considered it before & LOVE the idea! I also love the museum idea but have no idea how to put personal things into community lots. Hell, I can't even have a wedding cake if I have my wedding party at a Community Lot! So... if anyone knows how, feel free to let me in on the secret. ;)

Skilled - Reach level 10 of a skill unrelated to the heir's career. I tend to do this anyhow. Everyone needs a hobby, right??

Real Estate Powerhouse - Each heir must buy a business related to their personality. I'll personalize any venues I get as well, if I can. Another thing I generally do, though the challenge here will be not buying everything I can as soon as I can.
